Class Trips/Parent Transport

School or Class trips are often planned to enhance the school programme. To enable these outings to proceed, we are sometimes dependent  on parents for both transport and additional supervision.

If you are providing transport for yours and other children we need to know that:

• You have a full NZ Drivers Licence

• Your vehicle has a current Warrant of Fitness as well as adequate insurance.

• All children traveling with you need to be wearing seat belts.

• Children under the age of 7 are required by law to be correctly secured in an approved child restraint (booster seat) with an over the shoulder seat belt (not in a lap belt). These car seats will be provided by the child's family each trip.

• Children also must not be seated in the front seat of a car.

• On volunteering your services for transportation a form will be filled out by you to ensure these safety precautions are in place.

• For the occasional outing buses may be hired in which case none of the above will apply.
